I have just found a blog of a passionate gardener. I would like to share a text that he wrote about gardens designed for (not by!) some rich people. After reading, please definitely have a look at the PHOTOS.
I recently toured some grand gardens in Bethesda, Maryland, [...] and must confess that uppermost in my mind all day was: Just where did these people get all this money??
Take, for example, the home shown[...] in the first three photos below. In the middle of prime real estate, this property covered several acres. It included [...] a second garage to hold the owner’s collection of race cars. [P]eople with enough money don’t have to choose between great gardens and fast cars at all! Silly me, thinking like the 99 percenter that I am.
But [...] they also have great taste! Or the good sense to choose designers with great taste. Whichever it is, their gardens, so unlike my own in scale and budget, managed to teach me some lessons in design and plant choice that I can use on my own tiny lot.
Homework
After having a look at the blog, think of the questions below and write an answer to ONE of them (5-10 sentences):
1. Describe the most beautiful or the most impressive garden that you know.
2. Author of the blog toured some gardens in his area. If you worked for a travel company, what three to five gardens or parks in your area would you choose for such a tour? Why would you choose them?
3. Write your own sentences with the words in bold.
